Death Penalty: Yes or No?

15 Comments 04 October 2011

Recently, we watched what many believed to be the death of an innocent man – Troy Davis.  For those of you in a hole for the last month.  Troy was jailed for allegedly shooting and killing a cop.  Troy proclaimed innocence throughout the entire ordeal.  This was a 20 year process, but in the last days, what stirred so much controversy was that new ballistics tests proved inconclusive and several eye witnesses recanted their statements.

But today is not to focus on Troy who was still executed the night of September 21, but to tap the minds of those who are pro or against the death penalty.  Should man be able to decide the fate of another man, regardless of crime.  Is our judicial system flirting with playing God?  Killing someone is a feat that cannot be reversed.  If a man is possibly innocent and you take his life, you have placed a burden on all those involved that they must carry for the rest of their lives.

You should answer this and share as if someone’s life depended on it:

Should we really have a death penalty for criminals?
