Perceptions

Online Degree Validity

5 Comments 23 August 2011

We’ve discussed this issue in another flavor before. I’ll readily admit that I’m naturally biased when it comes to online degrees.  There is something about the traditional classroom setting that I favor.  The silly thing is I can’t quite put my finger on it because I loathe classes with a passion.

Everybody knows that online schooling has sprung to popularity in the last few years.  I’m sure you know someone who has an online degree.  It is almost certain that you snicker about their degree not being “real” or “valid”.  Nevermind the fact that the person passed all their coursework.  Nevermind the fact that the person earned their degree while juggling school, bills, and a couple of kids.  Nevermind the fact that the person is probably loaded down with student loan debt just like you.

Most people with traditional degrees feel this way so don’t beat yourself up.  Just answer the question below.

Social Stigma is the reason that online degrees are considered invalid
