Why not be Eco-friendly

7 Comments 01 July 2011

We’ve had several posts this week pertaining to the environment and they all seem to be directed toward people (You, Me, Us) and how we’re damaging the Earth or ways to possibly decrease the amount of damage on Mother Earth.  However, most aren’t so susceptible to change.  Especially change that involves us spending OUR money without immediate or direct benefit.

You scum bags are missing the intent of having a hybrid. Its primary purpose was to help save the earth 1st. You guys are hopeless! You would rather penny pinch and burn a hole in the ozone than spend a few more duckies for a car that uses much less gas. Sorry mofos! Your kids won’t see 10.

From a financial aspect, no(Which is really the only one I care about). If we all went green, then people would pay for less electricity and the electric companies would have to increase rates to cover their bases. We have already heard rumors of people talking about a tax hike for fuel b/c people don’t buy enough of it.

And the one thing that the big wigs have not looked at is that the middle class which makes up most of America is who is hurting and struggling. These people are trying to make ends meet, keep food on the table, water running, and air and heat running. Buying CFLs or hybrid cars are the furthest things from these people’s minds. Without COST breaks, not tax breaks, most of these “green” ideas will not take off. :-(

If it shines bright, saves some cash, and sticks around for a while then I’d buy it. I’d probably have to close my eyes the first time I paid $49.99 for 1 bulb though.

Common note among these three commentors is $ (money).  It’s going to cost someone something.  And that someone is probably going to be you, either in the beginning or the end.  However, don’t let me skew you with these guys and their words.  Tell us what YOU think…

What's the biggest reason that people aren't more eco-friendly?
