Let’s face it – we’re all human.  With that said, we don’t all get along (shocking, I know).  And it’s no different at work.  We have confrontations and we all know someone that is steps away from you telling them off or more drastic.

I recall a previous job I had.  I had a nice corner office.  Nice view of downtown.  Job was great, boss was wonderful.  And then I had a co-worker that had to share an office with me.  Initially, I thought – this won’t be so bad.  However, I was wrong L.

My co-worker, let ‘s call him Antuan.  Antuan was the most obnoxious bleep bleep you’ve ever seen.  He spent 4 hours of an 8 hour work day on the phone with his wife trying to coax her to not quit her job or to not spend all the money in their checking account because the mortgage check hadn’t cleared yet.  But if you think that’s nothing, what about these:

• Coughed and sneezed without covering his mouth, face, body, anything
• Brought the smelliest food to work for lunch
• Looked at my computer screen more than I did
• Always had “advice” if he heard me on a phone call, work or personal
• Frequently had to leave early leaving his work on me
• Always willing to volunteer himself and ME for work assignments
• Went in my cabinets and helped himself to my spoons, forks, pens, and planners
• Would even allow his personnel guests to come visit him and take my chairs

That was only 5 years ago, but you see I remember it vividly.  Even with subtle hints, I could never get Antuan to see the error of his ways.  I tried everything from the direct verbal approach, to informing our manager, to the silent treatment.  They all yielded the same result of pointless.  So why don’t you tell me…
