I have frequently asked myself this question when out shopping. Is there really any benefit to me buying this funny looking light bulb, or me getting that funny looking car? We need opinions today people. Our Earth depends on it. So let’s lay out a few pros and cons.
The Good
Going Green will save you money (in the long haul). With all the green appliances, and electric devices, you can lower your utility bills by using less of the earth’s natural resources. Less water usage, less power usage, fewer purchases of batteries. Good times man, good times.
The Not So Good
Going green costs money – a significant amount more than you pay for the “regular” products. You can get a pack of normal 60W light bulbs for a few bucks whereas a pack of the fancy efficient spirally ones will tax you for $20 easily. The Surveymagnet team has looked at hybrid and electric car comparisons before and price point definitely weighs in on consumer decisions. Some hybrids cost $10,000 more than their gas powered equivalent and only give you 2 more miles per gallon. Not appetizing at all.
SUMMARY
At the end of the day, Going Green should save money and pay for itself. There is a little more cost up front but that should be expected. In the long run, you should more than recoup your monies back.
So, is it worth it to you. Can you shell out a few more dollars to save your pockets and earth later.
