If you’ve ever lived in or know anyone who lives in South Florida, I’m sure you know its not uncommon to hear about some wild animal on the loose in the neighborhood. But amazingly these wild animals are not “wild” to the South Florida region, well not all of them anyway.
The Cane Toad also was a quaint little pet for many frog lovers. However, the toad secretes toxins that kills other small pets like dogs and cats.
Many took in burmese pythons as pets. Those same people failed to realize the growth potential of the animal. What does that mean? Well, a 2ft snake could easily grow into a 20ft snake.
The Spectacled Caimen, a native of Central and South America made its way to South Florida. They became famed little pets for many when they were babies in the one to two foot range. However, the aggressive adult version has brought terror to many a family.
