Most homeless people are harmless. The bad turns of life have beat them down and they are looking for a way out. Having said that, a small percentage of them are extremely aggressive.
A week ago I witnessed this is in action. A young man was headed to a convenience store when a homeless man asked him for money. The guy politely checked his pockets and said no. The homeless guy seemed to take it well. 5 minutes later the same young man emerged from the store.
As he walked to his car the homeless man approached and pushed him. He started screaming at the top of his lungs and he squared up to fight. The younger man stood there in shock for a second until the homeless man pushed him again. After the second push, he whipped out his cell phone and called the cops. Seeing the phone and realizing what was going on the homeless man turned away and ran into the night.
If you were the young man what would you have done?
