I know 5 people that are absolutely in love with their pets. Their animals have beds, organic food, bottled water, grooming appointments, and many other luxuries. All 5 of these people also share another trait. They are notorious for their awkwardness in human relationships. 1 of them is pushy as all get out. 1 of them talks to everyone as if she is addressing a puppy. The other 3 are just weirdos.
I’ve always thought pet lovers struggled with humans for2 reasons:
- People fall in love with pets because pets dont talk back. Its your way or the highway and the pet is happy to have it your way.
- People who fall in love with pets are often socially deficient prior to owning a pet. Getting a pet just makes things worse.
So what gives here? Is this just a coincidence?
