Relationships require an incredible investment. The word “I” has to be replaced with the word “we” in most sentences. This thought alone can scare people away from being in a relationship. There are many other factors that go into why a person may fear being in a relationship.
- Vulnerability – many people hate vulnerability. Vulnerability is virtually unavoidable in relationships.
- Loss of Control – as I mentioned before joining a relationship requires a distribution of time and control. Some people want to control every second of every day.
- Afraid of Rejection – some people fear that they aren’t interesting enough to keep a person around for a long period of time.
- Biology – a surprising number of socially awkward jackasses cling to this as a reason. Biological reasoning states that humans are not meant to mate with only one person.
So what do you think?
