I remember not seeing Christmas decorations until the day after Thanksgiving. You never saw the Christmas decorations in the stores or on most houses. Seemingly on Thanksgiving night, everyone’s Christmas decor went up. That was my way of knowing the holiday season had begun.
Now, you see Christmas trees, lights, ornaments, and other decor in stores as early as September. The Black Friday sales commercials start running in early November. And Thanksgiving is more about camping out in line at Walmart and Best Buy, rather than eating turkey and sweet potato pie with friends and family.
So what’s the verdict.
