The information age has created an enormous need for news and content.  These days the news is filled with absolutely useless information.  As content scarcity increases news outlets must dig deeper to find relevant information.

In the past few years the lives of public officials has become a gold mine that the 49ers would envy.  We’ve been involved in sex lives (Bill Clinton), religious affiliations (Barack Obama), and drunken college parties (Dubya’s daughters).  None of this has really related to the jobs at hand, but they’ve made major headlines.

At some point these people  deserve some level of privacy.  Where is that line?

How much privacy should public officials have?
