One of the most important functions/pieces to a relationship is financial stability. Finances have driven couples apart and caused several divorces. Yes, love conquers all, but love doesn’t pay the rent or mortgage.
- Couples have to be able to openly discuss the finances.
- Couples need to agree to financial terms that work for both couples. It isn’t fair for both individuals to contribute $1000 monthly when the man only makes $1200/month.
- You have to set goals. Aside from paying bills monthly, you have to be able to save together as well.
- Emotions are only good in bed. They do nothing for your checkcard.
Once you’ve come to terms on all this, who plays the administrator over the finances. Who pays the bills and ensures the books are balanced? Should the man do it because he’s the man, or should the woman do it because women are typically smarter? I’ve seen both instances with myself and several friends and they all have their ups and downs.
