Alcoholism has been researched for years without a clear answer of “why” people become alcoholics. One known fact is that it is attributed to those who drink too much. People have had drink after drink after drink for over 20 years before invading alcoholism. Others have become subdued after the first sip.
So let’s begin at the beginning. Alcohol is a drug. All drugs can be addictive, thus leading to alcohol being the cause of alcoholism. Next you may wonder why start drinking at all.
It helps me cope with problems.
Work is driving me insane!
Drinking is cool.
It keeps me from getting sick.
I don’t have a problem. I don’t drink hard liquor.
My friends do it too.
Most people justify these as reasons for drinking. These are merely excuses. Alcohol is a Depressant, a Central Nervous System Depressant to be exact thus creating a “pseudo” feeling. Whether a happy feeling, calm feeling, excited feeling, or superman feeling, it is a false feeling that leads persons to want to feel this feeling more and more.
But since the book has not been closed, you tell me…Why are you a drunkard?
