Which cellular company has the best service?

Regardless of what channel you watch or shopping center you enter, you are almost guaranteed to see a  cell phone company.  Shopping Plazas, mall booths, and some grocery stores all have someone in there attempting to sell you service, get you to switch your service, or trying to convince you that you need a new phone.

I honestly don’t see how smaller providers continue to exist.  Within the past few weeks, Verizon and AT&T have matched $69.99 unlimited plans that were once seemingly absurd.  With plans like this, I can’t ration why someone would use one of the smaller unlimited local companies.

Most people carry either an AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, or Sprint phone.  I personally carry Verizon and AT&T serviced phones.  I think the AT&T phone sucks.  I live in a Metro area and it drops while walking or driving down the street.  Verizon has not failed me yet.  But enough with me, how about you?  Who is your provider and how is your service?

I work for a company that relies heavily on 2 cellular providers for us to operate. When one of them has issues, at least one of our projects/customers is fucked. Verizon definitely has the best coverage.

I’ve been a proud member of the T-Mobile family for 8 years. The service is incredibly spotty and there was a time when I couldn’t think about taking a call in any Wal-Mart.

Overall, I believe Verizon is better. My main historical gripe against them has been their astronomical prices. They may be the best company available with the introduction of that unlimited $69.99 plan.

I have Verizon and I have never had a problem with my service anywhere and I travel quite frequently.

Not sure how true it is but a sales rep once told me that the reason AT&T boasts about all their bars is because AT&T found out the route that the “cell service testers” travel and placed cell towers along that route giving the impression that they had the most bars everywhere.

    Who shops in Wal-mart???

You can gripe about AT&T, but they of course have better world wide coverage due to the fact that you don’t need another (or special) phone to travel like you would with Verizon since they are on the archaic CDMA technology. Also, data on AT&T’s new (yet small) 3G is faster.

AT&T I believe has descent coverage, and since Cingular merged with AT&T the service has only gotten better, and did I mention rollover minutes?

I travel and know a lot of people that do travel and world wide travel is no reason to get a phone that doesn’t work in your living room.

I’ve seen the super fast data on AT&T and Verizon is just as fast. Yes, Verizon does use CMDA but it works.

If you have unlimited talk for $69.99, why would you need rollover minutes?

I personally use Sprint and I was the ONLY person to have coverage on my last ski trip. All my friends were putting down their iPhails and asking to use my phone to call.

Why pay $69.99 when I can pay 39.99 for less minutes and use my rollover minutes if I go over…hmmm seems like that would save me $360 a year.

But in college you were the only person who couldn’t use your phone in the dorm. LOL

If you use less than 450 minutes a month, why not use prepay?

You have a solution to everything don’t you, but still you’re wrong. One could use way more than 450 a month with free nights and weekends (when most people use their phone due to working during the day) which is not included with prepaid.

    The common man.

Gotta be solutions-oriented in this market.
