Most people punch the time clock on Monday through Friday for 30 or 40 years on end. With that type of time commitment you have to love something about what you’re doing. It could be your small commute, your large salary, or your long standing office romance with your boss.
Whatever the case we would like to know what you enjoy the most about your career. Chime in and let us know what you enjoy most about your job.

Flextime bitches!!!
I consider the bi-weekly paycheck to be the sole motivator. Not to say I don’t like my job, but it doesn’t enthuse me enough to want to do it without one.
Shockingly, I knew that would be your response.
I like the people that I work with and I find the people and culture to be more important than money.
I really dislike bi-weekly checks. I wish I was paid twice monthly. The months when I have 3 paychecks really throw off my budget and bill paying schedule.
I may have worked 7-7 yesterday, but its 9:15 and I’m still at home…I’m working from home right now, but still… I’m at home and nobody cares.
Shockingly, I knew that would be your response.
I guess I got it going every which way, I like the people I work with, I come and go as I please (but I keep a regular schedule out of convenience for myself) and they pay me a good chunk of change.
Most importantly I value the culture, cool people make everyday better no matter how sucky your job may be.
Your statement makes no sense, how does an extra paycheck in your month throw off the budget? Budget stays the same, you just have extra money. If extra money is the problem it seems like you may have budgeting issues.
It is more of a problem for me which is why I said I hate them, not that they are stupid or a bad idea. When I get the third pay check at the beginning of the month I tend top pay things like cc’s down and dont think that the next check doesnt go into my account until after all my auto draft bills hit my account. Now that I think about it…auto draft bills are the worst thing I have signed up for.
I agree. My budget was much easier to manage with checks on the 15th and 31st.
We’re glad you were able to evaluate your finances and rationalize your bill paying methodologies.
If I’m excited about what I’m doing, I think I can deal with cruddy people that aren’t interrupting me and pay thats kinda cruddy as well.
If what I’m doing is absolutely boring I’m gonna find a new job.
I like the people that I work with. But, my paycheck is the sole motivator because if I didn’t get my paycheck, I wouldn’t come to work just to see the people that I work with. As a matter of fact, I look online to see if the direct deposit is there every other Friday. If it isn’t there, then they won’t see me until the direct deposit hits my account.
