Traditional Man
- Works
- Is the family bread winner
- Makes the family decisions aka Calls the Shots
- Sits down and waits on his plate to be placed in front of him
Traditional Woman
- Cooks
- Cleans
- Has and watches the kids
- Obeys her man
Welcome to 2010 where these roles are somewhat mixed. Now, the man works, but so does the woman. The man used to be the bread winner but in many households, the woman is the big dough bringer. Men used to call the shots, but now women want 50/50 decision-making authority. Men that currently sit down and receive their plate are getting a bonus.
Women may cook but more so for the kids as opposed to the man. Although women may clean, they expect the man to clean up as well. Women still have kids(most of the time – I’m not touching that today), and “obey” is thought of as a command for a dog, not a woman.
So are the traditional roles going away? Do we have identity crisis in the home? We’re unsure so you tell us.
