The infamous double standard has been a serious topic of discussion since the 1960s. It was first defined by researcher, Ira Reiss, as the idea of prohibiting sexual intercourse for women but allowing it for men. Women were only permitted to engage in sexual relations once they were in a committed relationship. However, men were allowed to experience as many sexual partners as they wanted.
When brought to present day, men are still considered “players”, “macks”, or “pimpin” when they are fruitfully spreading their loin goodness. Women on the other hand or perceived as “whores”, “sluts”, or “skanks” for having too many miles on the merchandise and are often the less desirable of settling men.
I’ve never heard a guy say he wanted to marry a virgin, but I’ve also never heard a woman say she wanted a very experienced man.
