Bill Maher is famous for many things. He is funny, gregarious, and informative. He isn’t shy about rules and the way citizens should be governed. On my occasions Bill has expressed his disdain for the Bible and the many rules that Bible followers must adhere to.
The Bible uses 10 commandments as guiding principles in life:
- You shall have no other gods before me.
- You shall not make for yourself a carved image–any likeness that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
- You shall not take the name of the LORD your god in vain.
- Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
- Honor your father and your mother.
- You shall not murder.
- You shall not commit adultery.
- You shall not steal.
- You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
- You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife; nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.
Bill Maher uses 2 guiding principles:
- Don’t kill me.
- Don’t steal my sh*t.

Bill’s great, but there are a few more rules I like following out of respect for others.
I like Bill’s rules. They make life simple.
As much as it pains me to say it, I like what Maher is doing here.
However, I think I would include the golden rule in there as well.

Bill said this as a joke. There is much more to life than not killing you and taking your worldly possessions. Bill thrives off saying what he feels his audience will like. Judging by today’s post, he may have succeeded.

I think that it is sad that we actually see it as a choice. Bill Maher is a pretty pathetic man who really does think that he is in control of much more than he actually is. Ignorance at its best is always funny. Entertainment is a far cry from basic life lessons. Getting the two confused can quite often get you twisted.
