Traditionally, the man/dad/husband controlled the household operations. Mainly because he was the bread winner. He made the money that supported the family and was responsible for the clothes on everyone’s backs and the food that calmed their hunger.
Well, it’s 2009 and the man is no longer the soul provider and sometimes is not the bread winner. Women make tremendous contributions to the family and in many cases, their income is necessary to the living situation.
With powerful women like :
- Indra Nooyi – PepsiCo
- Irene Rosenfield – Kraft Foods
- Andrea Jung – Avon Products
- Oprah Winfrey – Harpo
- Carol Bartz – Yahoo
You have to wonder, do they really rake in all the dough so their hubbies can tell them how to spend it?
