Ah yes, the Draft, or Conscription as it has been called, has been talked about several times in the past few years. Why? because we are in a seemingly endless war.
War in itself is a sad event. Loved ones go overseas (never here – nobody is that crazy) and fight for our country sometimes to return, other times not. But what are we to do when we need more soldiers than are currently enlisted. The Country may possibly enable the draft.
- There would be a lottery based on something like birthdays.
- All forces would be enabled if not already.
- Evaluation would be done on everyone: physically, mentally, and morally.
- Induction Notices would be dispersed.
- Draftees would be inducted and shipped out. (ok, not that quick)
But families would have to kiss sons goodbye in hopes of seeing them again and fathers would have to leave kids to go fight. The draft has been disabled since 1973, but do we need it again….
