Is King James ready for a title?

King James

Recent power rankings have boosted the Cleveland Cavaliers to the #1 spot.  Cleveland was in the 7 spot last week but after strong victories against some formidable opponents, the Cavs have the right to brag.

  • They beat the Phoenix Suns 109-91 at home (first team to beat the Suns at home this season)
  • After an impressive showing in Sacramento, the Cavs came out on top 117-104 in an OT thriller
  • Lebron and Mo Williams handed the then #1 ranked Lakers a hardy Christmas Day beatdown: 102-87
  • Houston couldn’t withstand the onslaught as they were on the receiving end of a 108-83 thrashing

The Cavs have been pumping the doe into the roster and getting ready for another playoff romp.  Past years have been unkind.

  • 2006 -  the Piston haters
  • 2007 – the San Antonio haters
  • 2008 – the Celtic haters
  • 2009 – the Orlando haters

Well, the Cavaliers are tired of losing and showing it off early in December.  Lebron is averaging 28 points, ~7 rebounds, and 7 assists a game.  Supporting cast Mo (17.3, 4.8,1.3) and Shaq (10.3, 7.1, 1.3) are adding valued assistance to King James.

So what do you think….Is King James ready to be crowned?

Are Lebron and the Cavaliers ready for an NBA Title?

    People still watch NBA basketball?

  2. Emcee says:

Oh c’mon Burmonster, no one is watching the NBA right now and no one starts until the playoffs start.

But with that said, ‘Bron is a winner and it’s only a matter of time before he is crowned.

Paid for the BigAl campaign against pro sports.

That’s kinda funny but not amusing.

I don’t think LeBron has what it takes. because the Cavs lack a veteran.

    Shaq isn’t a veteran?

Shaq is a guy who rides the back of a great guard. (Kobe, Flash, and now LeBron) Phoenix didn’t have a great guard to ride.

UMM….why did Shaq get the finals MVP 3 times in a row. Prolly cause he was carrying the team, and if Kobe and Flash were so fire, they would’ve won more championships without him.

And didn’t Nash win Reg. Season MVP one year? Sounds like a pretty good guard to me.

2006 – Flash won that championship single handedly, try again.

2009 – Some guy named Kobe won the championship and also received the MVP award.

Shaq “was” ok back at the turn of the century, but still not caliber enough to win a championship. He can’t shoot, can’t make free throws, rarely gets rebounds for someone who is as tall as an avatar. He just waits on someone to throw him the ball when he is below the hoop so he can attempt to dunk it.

I stand corrected. Phoenix didn’t have a great 2 guard.

OK = Averaging 26 points a game and 10+ rebounds?

Shaq of yesteryear was on the greatest centers to ever play the game. The man has 4 rings for a reason.

Flash won because of Shaq, after Shaq left (or while hurt) didn’t Miami put up one of the worse seasons in NBA history?

Yeah Kobe FINALLY did it, but he had to score 50 points a game and had Odom, Ariza and Gasol.

No one player can win a championship it takes a team, just like Jordan isn’t Jordan with out Scottie. Bron-Bron now has what he needs to possibly pull it off if Shaq can give him a little help.

    And stop the Shaq denial.

Shaq was pretty good. In a pick up game, I would pick him on my team. But it takes a lot more than 26 points and 10 rebounds to win a championship.

Yeah they got rid of Shaq after realizing that the $21 Mil/YR spent on him was quite useless. But didn’t the Heat also lose Wesley Person, Jason Kapono, Shannon Anderson, and Matt Walsh that same year.

Kobe has a good supporting cast. (Odom, Ariza and Gasol) Not one 300LB guy.

Bron Bron has the same cast he had last year plus a 300LB guy who is limited to 20 mins, so he’s out of luck too. Garnett is back this year.

    Capt. Dodge-an-argument is back.

Just admit Kobe wouldn’t have 4 rings without Shaq (remember the last 6 years without Shaq), and admit Flash won’t get another one unless he leaves Miami.

Kobe could do it again, but I wouldn’t bet on it especially since San Antonio reloaded.

I apologize for your wrongness my e-friend.
Yes. Kobe would not have 3 rings had it not been for Horace Grant, Rick Fox, Derek Fisher, Brian Shaw, Ron Harper, Robert Horry, Devean George, and yeah – Shaq.

Flash will have to get the GM to get him enough people to get him in the 8th playoff spot. He can take it from there.

  15. Marcus says:

The Cavaliers won’t win a title because they aren’t a complete team. They smacked teams around in the regular season last year and then proceeded to fold in the playoffs to a good team.

The same will happen this year.

  16. Derrick says:

Seeing as how they have been eliminated by the Celtics….and Mr. West is doing his mom…..I guess we could say NO, he’s not ready.
