Ah yes, the Draft, or Conscription as it has been called, has been talked about several times in the past few years. Why? because we are in a seemingly endless war.
War in itself is a sad event. Loved ones go overseas (never here – nobody is that crazy) and fight for our country sometimes to return, other times not. But what are we to do when we need more soldiers than are currently enlisted. The Country may possibly enable the draft.
- There would be a lottery based on something like birthdays.
- All forces would be enabled if not already.
- Evaluation would be done on everyone: physically, mentally, and morally.
- Induction Notices would be dispersed.
- Draftees would be inducted and shipped out. (ok, not that quick)
But families would have to kiss sons goodbye in hopes of seeing them again and fathers would have to leave kids to go fight. The draft has been disabled since 1973, but do we need it again….

The need for a draft should send a message to our glorious overlords that if nobody is volunteering for service, maybe people don’t agree with what the military is doing and they should lead the country in a different direction. CRAZY TALK!!!

Makes sense to me. And its not like we are not overexerting our resources already.
I have my draft dodging kit ready (compass, oodles of noodles, smoke grenades, and an AK-47). I won’t get dragged into war without a fight.
If that didn’t work I’d just lie and pout like a 7 year old. Either way, I’m not for the draft.
Just head to Canada.
What you think the oodles of noodles are for?
The way I look at it, a draft in our current situation would never happen. However, if we were attacked I would fully support a draft if necessary. I really don’t see it effecting me as if it actually got that bad to start the draft, I would have already signed up in the first place to get as much training as possible and to make sure the guy in the foxhole next to me knows what he is doing and not just some kid they picked up for his warm body.
So you would only support the draft if someone tried to invade our soil?
Invade or directly attacked. Yes.
Yeah, while I support going after the people who were behind 9/11. If it can’t be done in 2 years…what are fighting for again? What, rather who?
We were fighting to eliminate overseas oil use while Bush was in office so we could buy from his Texas fields. Leading to gas prices around $5.00/gal. Bush prepares to leave office and gas drops to a 10 yr low of $1.49. He basically said, “I’m good now, get it from overseas.”
