Once upon a time in a land far, far away men conducted themselves differently than we do today. Apparently the men of olden days were a bunch of dragon slaying, bill paying, door openers who never asked for a thing in return.
The man of today will run away from that dragon, demand that you pay your own bills, and laugh at you if you stand poised for him to open a closed door.
What happened? Did someone take the proverbial shotgun out and put chivalry to rest?

I think the key to it is posted in the article above, “Once upon a time in a land far…”
LOL, that land was here.
The fight for women to have equal rights with men ruined chivalry. Chivalry is based on the idea that women can’t take care of themselves. The same goes for marriage. The penultimate goal of feminism is to get rid of marriage which is the ultimate display of women being subservient to men and requiring them for companionship and things that “women” can’t take care of. Well, thats what feminists tell me.
Ha ha ha!!! Aren’t you funny!! Chivalry is not dead. You just have a hard time seeing it. It is expressed by people whose actions are admirable. People who know the importance of standing by their principles, no matter what.
You are spot on chap!
I wouldn’t say that they want to rid themselves of marriage but the religious women want it both ways (follow the man and equal rights)….can’t have it all.
Very good point. While woman push more and more for equality, and seek to boast their independence, why should a man have to open a door, lay his coat down or take care of you if your claim to fame is that you can do it all yourself?
You don’t want a wife you want a roommate.
Chivalry has nothing to do with wives and roommates. Actually, if Ms. Independent is truly independent, she doesn’t want or need a husband or roommate.
Chivalry is dead because women have demanded equal rights for so long. Funny how so many women are complaining that ‘chivalry is dead’ now.
