What Would You Ban?

Technologies advance more and more every day.

Dating back just to the year 2000, we received

  • the Abiocor Artifical Heart
  • the Nuvaring Birth Control
  • the Smart Shirt Sensor
  • Outrider Boat
  • the Ford Think Car
  • the Fuel-Cell Bike

(Check It Out)

Most people don’t even know what these items are.  Some seemingly stupid, some monumental, some were just a brilliant idea that fizzled in production.  But there are a few that we all know very well.

But if you had your way, would these technological advances still be around…..

If you were able to ban one technological advance, what would it be?

Why the hell would we want to ban caller IDs?

I voted police speed detection. I was torn between this and background checks because my business is my own. As a business owner I would want to know who I was hiring so I voted speed detection devices.

I hate those stupid radar detectors. I’d be about $3,000 richer if I didn’t have to deal with that garbage.

Where is the neither option? You don’t ban technology, you ban human stupidity in using them.

And background checks aren’t even technology. People could do that before telephones. It just took a little while longer.

We need Speed Detection to keep the number of the suicidal highway idiots off the roads and from endangering me and my family. I selected Caller IDs because I cannot figure why its on the list.

We do not need Speed Detection, this is a scam that local PDs came up with in order to get some easy dough. Germany has areas of speedless highway and you don’t hear about high speed crashes but cause of excessive speed, and most accidents today do not occur because of speed but more so of stupidity.

$3000, why haven’t you bought a radar detector yet? Also has no one told you not to speed alone or in the front?

You let me know how that ban on human stupidity works out for you. Thats a 3 million year battle you’re trying to wage.

Germany builds its roads with much better quality than the US. Interstates in the US are built with thickness (I think around 4 to 6 inches) and last maybe 10 years before they have to be repaved. German roads are built with 18 in thickness for durability and longevity. Not to mention German cars > US Cars. Better handling.

How is road quality directly related to speed limits? There are good and bad roads all over my city, speed limits are not dictated by the quality of the road but more so the number of people driving on them and the locale.

The Germans allow for limitless speeds because the roads are built at a quality that allows it.
