On November 5, 2009, Fort Hood near Killeen, TX experienced an event that it will never forget.  39 year old Virginia Tech grad, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, sprang fire on several people at one of the military processing centers.  The end result was 12 dead and 31 wounded.  Hasan was first reported as having been killed when officers opened fire on him.  This has changed as he is now reported as alive and in custody.  CNN Full Story

There is no known reason for the attack other than Hasan was scheduled to be deployed to Iraq and was upset about that.
