I tend to agree with you. Minus the curses.
While I agree that wars waged on a terrorist attack is a waste of our money. I do support defending our country but only when it is under attack. 9/11 was tragic but we have no use in fighting in Afghanistan and Pakistan (or anywhere for that matter).
As said before, all the war money could have paid for health care (not that I support a single payer system).

This goes back to the question I ask all the time. Why do we have military installations in countries all over the world?
Why doesn’t Brazil have a base with 1800 marines in Virginia?
But you know, all of those fiction points in this survey are actually fact in some circumstances.
The steakhouses in Virginia would be incredible if that happened!
We should protect ourselves. That’s it.
I really think we are only trying to flex our guns or keep our hand in a pot that we, the public, do not know about. Could be oil, could be some other natural resource, could be just the ability to be closer to Russia and Korea. I think it just bothers the U.S. to be on the West and not able to bully anybody.
I do agree that we do have bases in Germany exactly for reasons like that. But I definitely don’t believe we are trying to be bullies.
Indirectly, I think so. Some bullies want to just take your lunch money every day. Others only want to hit the big weights. Punch the big bag. All just to prove a point – “I’m the biggest and baddest around here. Recognize”
