The U.S.’s 44th President has added another great feat to his legacy – The Nobel Peace Prize. President Obama becomes the 3rd sitting president to be awarded the prize behind Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. President Obama was bestowed this award for his efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation among countries and people.
The Nobel committee stated:
He has created a new international climate. We are awarding Obama for what he has done. Many other people and leaders and nations have to respond in a positive way.
In the last 24 hours, I have heard several responses to this. Some positively, some negatively. Let us know what you think…

I thought you had to do something to win that prize. If he won it, then I should get it next year.
1st It’s “I couldn’t care less”.
2nd I agree with Marcus. He may be more deserving later in his presidency, but not yet.
I think he has moved in great strides in the areas mentioned, but I honestly do not see how he has earned this award right now.
@Derrick: Well put
At least he takes a nice picture
Another award won by Obama for not being George Bush.
I really “hope” to be a good actor one day, think Ill get an Oscar this year?
@JMc:
Is it really Barack’s fault that Bush screwed up just that much that anything Barack does makes him look good?
@Derrick:
Its definitely not his fault, but this country is riding skates on a treadmill if all Obama has to be is “Not Dubya”. I like Obama and he has definitely succeeded at one thing this year…putting us further into debt while benefiting the uber rich. Nice job!
If you notice, the few sitting presidents who received this award are all pretty much of the same political ilk–all three were Democrats, and Roosevelt was borderline Communist. It just goes to show you that if a select handful of Norwegians like what you’re doing (or attempting to do), then you get a prize.
Louis Black once said about blowjobs: “…if you’re any good at it, you should get a medal!” Obama gave a philosophical blowjob to the Nobel Peace committee, and he was apparently good.
More power to Barack for paying attention in speech class unlike W (George W).
