Football is the most popular sport in the United States of America. If you don’t believe me, try finding an adult male who knows nothing about the sport. I’ll give you a good place to start, the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
Football is to the USA what the ancient gladiator games were to Rome. Football packs strength, power, intelligence, cunning, and violence into 7 second battles for supremacy. Football players, like ancient Roman warriors, are the best athletes of our time (making them even more enjoyable to watch).
The National Football League is THE professional football league of our day and it has the best players. Players like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Adrian Peterson, and Ed Reed are household names for a reason…they dominate the league.
All of these players are great but one of them has to be the greatest.

Best player in a team sport is a long shot. Where would MJ be without Pippen…and even he admitted that in his induction speech.
I’m not a fan of this dude at all but Drew Brees is lighting it up this year.

@Marcus: I believe there are players who are better than others, and best players in a position. But to say one good QB is better than one good RB is comparing apples to oranges, each is good in its respective way.
Peyton Manning by far. He has consistently dominated over a period of time. Brady WAS good. Big Ben WAS good. Their reign is over.
