Traditionally, the prescription for financial abundance has been this:
- 1 teaspoon of grade school
- 5 Liters of College
- 60 gallons of a salaried position
Millionaire entrepreneurs with no college degrees to speak of like Walt Disney, Richard Branson (Virgin Mobile), and Michael Dell (Dell computers) have created empires with little or no formal education.
Is this team of entrepreneurs the exception to the rule or do they represent a change in how money is made?

Critical…no. Important to have…yes. Knowledge is power. It is important to achieve that goal in life. However, I know many people that do not have a degree that is extremely successful.
There aren’t related in the slightest. Especially in a world where people are hired and then placed on tasks that have absolutely nothing to do with their formal education.
Brains over paper all day.
They are the exception to the rule for the simple fact that everybody is told to go to college to be successful. So much emphasis is placed on a college education that it has diluted the value if a degree. I suspect you will see a new wave of people like these few entrepreneurs as people realize paper (degrees not money) doesn’t make the person.
I once read a stat that said 60% of millionaires do not have college degrees. Interesting….I personally have two degrees and honestly, it does not help me perform my current job any better. I believe the process of getting my degrees have taught me way more than the actual classes. So to have financial success, no you do not need a degree.
