I know many of you were watching the Grammys the  night when Chris Brown and Rihanna were unable to attend.  It did not take long for news of the faith to get out.

Just in case you did not hear, Mr. Brown attacked Rihanna because she saw a text from a previous partner of his.  This brutal attack consisted of punching, hitting, biting, and even choke holds.  Story

Well, the time has come for Chris to atone for his actions.  He received 5 years probation and over 1400 hours of “labor-oriented service”. Was this the right punishment for his crime?

Was Chris Brown's sentencing fair for his crime?

Mr. Brown got of easy. VERY EASY. He should be under the jail for assaulting a woman like that.

  2. Derrick says:

Why does everyone focus on what he did. What about what SHE did to antagonize him. All woman do it. They push a man, and push him, and push him even more. And when they are done, they push him one more time until they get the reaction they wanted. BUT then the reaction hurts so they want to cry and call someone for help. When all they had to do was leave the man alone.

I’m quite surprised that you are justifying his actions. Let’s look at the obvious reasons that people focus on what he did:

    1) Men are stronger than women
    2) Men are bigger than women
    3) Chris Brown didn’t just hit Rihanna. He punched, bit, and choked her on his way to mangling her face.

Most men have had encounters with women that could have escalated into violence. Their moral compass helps them stop short of hitting a woman. I’ve been in a similar situation before and I chose to remove myself from the situation rather than beat the woman up.

Should I keep the women in my family away from you good buddy?

  4. Derrick says:

Your family is safe…..as long as they don’t push me. Ok, I’m kidding. But my point was that women know your #1 and #2 point that you just made so why would women place themselves in that situation. I mean would you keep edging Mike Tyson on? I don’t think so. Why? Because you know he will punch, bite, choke, and God knows what else to you. I’m not saying its ok, but women should know not to push men to this point.

And it was told that this was not the first incident. So if she stuck around for more, she apparently liked all or part of it.

  5. Marcus says:

Chris Brown should’ve been man enough to keep his hands off of her. There isn’t a woman on earth who could “push” me hard enough to put bruises on her face. Any man who beats up a woman is a coward.

  6. Latoya says:

I agree that Chris Brown should have walked away, but I also believe that the fighting was going on long before they were exposed and she had a part in it. Some women are crazy as hell…if one hits me I’m going to try to figure out how I can leave him or put him in the ground. No one should get mad enough to strike anyone that they “supposedly” love and care about.

  7. Derrick says:

@ Marcus – What if you had a coworker that constantly hit you on your shoulder or arm and you thought it was fun and games, but her real intent was too inflict pain on you. What would you do?

  8. Marcus says:

If somebody was constantly hitting me on the shoulders with the intent to inflict pain I’d snitch to the Human Resources department on a regular basis. Come to think of it, I do have a coworker who constantly hits me on the shoulder and arm….do you know the number to HR?

  9. Derrick says:

LOL @ Marcus and Derrick. I believe both are in the wrong. Chris Brown should have been man enough to walk away, and Rhiana should have been mature enough to not put herself in that situation. Women know what buttons to push to get a rise out of a man. Now if you know your man has temper, why keep pushing him?? I think he could have gone to jail, but the sad thing was that his whole career was ruined, and im not sure that he can get it back. His idol, Michael Jackson, passed away and he couldn’t even perform at the BET Awards (although it was a hot mess!). That is something that could have elevated his career to new heights. But he’s young. He is learning.

But let’s not even look at the fight, let’s look at why they fought in the first place. It was reported that Rhiana cheated on him and gave him something….ooooh do i smell another topic??? :)
